Hello Alan. I am not good at discribing things!
The tool post fit on cross slide that in turn fits to the main slide to turn the diameter of the part ..the handle to turn part is at the front of this slide. The handle lead screw that goes though and has brass nut that give movment to the main cutting slide. I need photo of the back end where the nut is fastened to the saddle We may get there!! but at least it's warmer here than down my workshop! Thanks for your efforts. Dave |

Not entirely clear what you need a photo of David, but i have a student 1800 and am happy to take any photos that may help.
Thanks . need photo of the bracket that the lead screw would fit into at the back of the main slide . It will have (I think) two holes to bolt it onto the slide and one larger hole that the lead screw would go through with thrust baearing and nut on that end...as said (I THINK!) Thanks Dave 07988925230 if you do whatsapp. |

Thread: Hydraulic swaging problem |

I plan to swage some lead wire. If I have ONE hole say 6mm the lead would have only 6mm to go through so I assume if I have say 5 or six holes there would be less force needed to force the lead through the six holes? or am I wrong? would I need more force?

Funnily enough, I was only looking at a duplicating machine the other day **LINK** Shouldn't be beyond the capabilities of most of us to construct something similar for less than they are asking. Regards, Rob Well it is not that one! mine will be cross between two Gemini and clone |

Welcome David I'm sure you will enjoy this very active forum, do take care with making air rifle parts -- make sure none are to increase the power beyond the legal limit of 12ft/lbs of energy. Cheers John Thanks John Most of the parts I are are for holding...barrel clamps and rails for scopes and some internal parts for triggers and cocking aids. Non are made or could be modified to up the power above the legal limit. Nice to know that some one picked up on my thread! I will be building a .25 airgun that will be capable of over 150 ft/lbs but this is on my FAC so within the law. |

Semi retired . Did engineering from leaving school till 21 could not wait to get out! now I can not wait to get on the lathe! Interested in making duplicating machine to carve wood....any help with this would be great. I do some parts for air rifles and have managed to sell a few bits to pay for more tooling. I have 45 ft ( note the proper measurement !! ) container full of stuff.
