Hi, if you are looking for 'Unistrut' type material have a look at F W Brundle. Their pricing is normally very keen. It's unbranded but to the BS. Lots of other useful things in the catalogue. Michael |

Having recently had a house rebuilt and a ‘Bricks and Mortar’ garage / workshop built I am about to start to purchase equipment for it. Having been apprentice trained on Colchester Student lathes (many years ago) and having an interest in old motorcycles and cars I am looking for a similar sized lathe. Having previous experiences with ‘Chester’ in the past and having looked at the second hand offerings, very variable and unable to visit to inspect currently, I have started to look seriously at the Warco GH1330. I have read the comments from some time ago on the forum and was interested in comments from current owners / users. Would you buy again? |

Hi Paul, My Chinese language does not work very well but the rating plate indicates 3 Phase motor, star connected, 380v, 1.15A full load current, 1400 rpm. If that helps.....

Hi Robert,
If it is a twin speed motor think of it a two different motors in the same "Can". Normally one of the 'Motors' is twice the speed of the other 'Motor'. Lathe should have control gear to switch between speeds as required. Michael |

Dear all, I have just purchased one of the Hilka branded wire rope hoists 125/250Kg from Screwfix clearance, £64.99. Its the standard 'China' model but at least a brand that you can recognise! The price seems very good so if anyone is interested grab one before they are gone! |

Hello, Are you aware of CSML in the Netherlands? Major historic Honda Parts dealer. (and others) They have illustrated parts lists for most models. You can check if the different models have different parts numbers for the cables. May give a lead if different forks are fitted.
Hopefully the link above works or Google CSML. Hope this may help. Michael |

Hi, This is a 230v input single phase and 220v three phase ouput inverter. Rated at 0.75kw. Your motor will need to support 220 / or 230v phree phase supply, often by connecting in Delta on a dual rated motor. It will 'putting in a box' to protect it with room to be able to loose the heat generated. Then with correct configuration it will then work! If you not sure about the motor put up a photo of the motor rating plate.

With Autocad there is a setting to control if text is mirrored or not when using the 'mirror' command on objects. On the command line type MIRRTEXT and change the value shown, that will then allow the text to be mirrored. Change it backl to prevent mirroring. IIRC value 0 gives No Mirroring and value 1 Mirrors the text as well as the object. Michael |

Thread: Problem With Corrosion Of Stainless Steel |
10/03/2018 18:16:33 |
Hello Bob, New to the forum but to add my comments to your problem... In the food and pharma industries passivation is carried out on new Stainless equipment as welding and other workings such as cutting exposes iron on the surface. This can mark as a rust stain or be "rusted off" the material and carried to where the flow drops it, normally tank inlets etc. You then get a red stain on the surface from the rusting iron deposit. No what is required when you want a perfect chemical concoction for your drug that needs to be “pure”, for the most heavly regulated of business! Try telling the FDA it does not matter! Most of the marerials used are 316 or in some cases 304 which should be better than the 416 you are using in the first place. Passivation eats the iron from the surface leaving just chromium etc to be the contact material, thus no rust like indications. ! Nitric or Citric acid can be used, never been directly involved so I am unsure of concentrations etc. Regards Michael
