Thanks gents, I’ve still got the lathe but haven’t used it much. I’d be very interested in a copy of the manual if you could though please?

Ok, the OD over the teeth of the 60 is 5.647" or 143mm so am I correct in thinking 62/5.647? As that doesn't really match any size gear in davall. I can't see it matching any metric size either, any ideas? |

Thanks guys, I suppose I'm now in search for a full set of gears, now possibly the silly questions bit.... are bit like this still available or are you suggesting having them made? Thanks Marc |

This is what I presumed but, I didn't get any other gears with it so it wasn't making any sense to me. I'll set the gears I have to match one of the metric threads and give it a go. Thanks for your help all, I really appreciate it. Do you have any pictures of yours scrumpy? |

Cheers David, I have emailed to you about it and he sent me what he had but wasn't the same as my lathe, I sent him some pictures back but didn't hear anything further. Sorry David this was meant to say "I have emailed Tony about it" |

Many thanks, I've just added another picture side on in which you will see the only 4 gears I have which are 63-60-42-40. Cheers Marc |

Hi all, I'm a bit new to this lathe lark but being a farmer I need one every now and again for repairs etc.. I bought a cheap Mitchell lathe from eBay and want to do some threading on it but I can't make out how to set the gears, I'll attach some pic and probably some of you may be able to point me in the obvious (but not to me) direction please. I'm not sure if I'm missing some more gears or whatever but I've trawled the Internet and looked for a manual etc for the machine but to no avail... Any help will be great fully received. Marc |

Thank you both, pontypool only a few miles from me. The Mitchell is a fair size machine (for me anyway) but I only really had this one as the price was right and I was hoping to use it to do general farm repair stuff with it but I'm trying to figure out the quick change gearbox for thread cutting and I'm stuck... I don't have a manual and tried Tony's lathe but haven't heard anything back so thought I'd ask out here.
