so only solution is to buy real engine and ,disassemble it ,and do measures

huh

06/08/2016 16:10:14

i downloaded one v-engine in autocad format from hotrods forum

description was "1:1 scale hd 59' v-engine " so i started to make one in 1:4 scale ,so i divided all measures by 4 ,and make one

but problem started with all small parts (my errors) ,and end up with engine housing been wrong size on autocad drawing

i give plans to guy to make housing ,his firm make smelted metal injection kind housings from alu to hi grade steel

and he tell me this wont work ,cause no space for rest parts in housing

by acad drawings

so i send msg to guy that post it and he send me link to grabcad site and ...

bad drawing

so anyone have drawings of some kind hd/indian kind chopper v-engine from 50's that are accurate

thanks

Thread: sieg sc3 mini lathe precision ?
28/06/2016 19:01:52

thanks for answers .

now some more questions ..)

my plan i to use tool that take diamond shape inserts (hate grinding i worked on 4g cnc only so no manual work)

and material will be spring steel (from truck sheet spring)

so question is will i be ok for these kind measures if i go to smaller sc2 and x1 mill too ?

(don't have much space for tools ,plus i live in 4 store building and i'm on third so more weight on stares is huh too )

and second ,any suggestions for precise tools ,for mill and lathe ? for lathe ones that take diamond inserts

thanks again

hi !

i need to make some small parts but precise .

in 1'' length and 0.040'' diameter is one of peaces i will need to make.

i want to make small scale chopper V engine ,and scale u to 1:5 or every measure is divided by 5 ,so i will end up with bunch of small parts

i don't have late or mill yet,but thinking to buy sc3 and sieg X2-3 mill

but first problem is precision of these machines

will these machines be ok for these kind parts ?

thanks
