The above isn't a nut but it was machined from solid to look like one! It measures 37mm across the flats. A couple of plugs made:

Started this little project a few days ago. Thought it might be of some interest. I'm just gonna let you guess what it is. |

The whole of China comes to a standstill around Chinese new year (Feb 8th). Likely has something to do with it. I know from experience that ordering anything around that time will delay your order for months! |

I know my lathe isn't a priceless artifact, I'm just a bit OCD about things being as they should be. I'll find a way, I'm supposed to be an engineer after all! |

Has anyone here fitted digital scales to there Boxford lathe? I would like to fit a set to mine and would like some neat mounting ideas. I'd rather not have to start drilling holes into my precious Boxford. |

Hello guys my names Matt. I've been into model engineering for about 6 or 7 years now so still a relative beginner. I'm kinda at that stage where I have the basics nailed down but I'm still at the bottom of a steep learning curve. Initially I bought a lathe for gunsmithing projects, making small parts which would otherwise cost a fortune. I started with a raglan training lathe but have upgraded 3 times since. I now own a boxford AUD and a small knee mill which suit my needs perfectly. I hope to learn mre from the knowledgeable folk here. See you around! |
