Had a few minor "belts" over the years. Nothing too serious and 100% caused by lack of concentration. Only ill effects being muscle strain in the arm closest to the contact. It's certainly not a pleasant experience.

The answer is to prevent current flowing across the heart, resulting in a cardiac arrest.
One hand in the pocket means that current should flow down the arm and then down the body to ground.
If the other hand is contact with the casing of the machinery, then the current will flow from one hand to the other across the chest. The one handed technique should make a shock much more survivable.

In my opinion one of the most innovative uses of technology for a long time. Now widely being adopted by the emergency services. It could literally be a lifesaver. Much simpler than an OS grid reference and less error prone than reading out lat/long. Whether your house is difficult to find, (mine doesn't have a number) or you are working in a remote location being able to have a simple 3 word phrase that will precisely locate you is very valuable. It is already widely used in industries such as forestry.

I wouldn't be without a DRO on a mill. It makes working so much easier. Not just switching units, but functions such as decide by two for locating workpiece centres.

There was a person being interviewed on R4 PM today, who was indicating that one of the weaknesses in the grid was down to "lack of inertia". Older larger generating stations, take time to wind down. Newer sources trip out very fast, with a big impact on the frequency and the grid is not geared up to absorb this.

RS have always been a premium supplier,mainly due to pretty much guaranteed availability for next day delivery. Over 30 years ago I worked in an Electronic repair shop, While we kept a good stock of basics, we knew we could rely on RS for next day delivery to complete a job in the vast majority of situations

Mostly "Fibre" Broadband is the biggest marketing con in the telecoms industry.
What BT and the other providers who use Openreach infrastructure are offering is FTTC, Fibre to the Cabinet. The speed you get is determined by the bit of manky copper, between the cabinet and your house. What you typically find is that they wont offer you a speed until they have tested the line.

Contrast this to true FTTP, Fibre to the Premises, which actually does run a high speed, highly reliable optical cable right to your router. This will typically run at Gigabit (1000Megabit) line speed and is symmetrical (same upload speed as download.

The big question is what is your usage profile. If you are a single user with occasional browsing, etc, the ADSL will be fine. However if you have a family with several teenagers, online gaming, watching movies, etc, then the extra bandwidth is of massive benefit.

How do I know this, I worked with a FTTP start-up to get true fibre into our village. I work from home in an IT role. We have had the service for 5 years now. I could get full 1000Mbit, but in practice I only pay for 50Mbit, which is enough for working, downloading large files, video conferencing, cloud backup, etc.
It is a premium service and I believe that still only 30-40% of the village have switched providers as the rest either don't need or aren't will to pay the premium. I pay ~£40/month for my 50MBit line.

I would recommend speaking to Inverter Drive Supermarket. When I did my 3phase conversion on my lathe, they were incredibly patient in specifying a solution and answering my novice questions, all for a single one off order.

Screwfix seal linked above worked for me

+1 on the EMC filter. I fitted one when I did my lathe conversion and have never had any issues.
Only thing to watch out for is additional earth leakage, which may trip your RCD.
