Thread: Accolade to suppliers |
10/09/2014 17:49:00 |
Whilst the preceding post are thumbs up for various companies, mine's a thumb's down ! I purchased a item from a well known lathe company from their eBay website the item was a toy steam engine when it arrived it did not have a burner this was not made clear in the items description or photos, so I emailed for their comments after a week I had not received a reply so I posted negative feedback this got their attention and I received a 'winging' email saying they had not seen my email,it had been deleted etc and I was being unfair !!! Now I find that I'm blocked from making any purchases on their ebay site |

Thread: My fathers Workshop and Projects - New home? |

Again sorry to hear your bad news and cant fault Neil's advise, when a friend of one of my fellow club members passed away myself and fellow club members helped with valuating the content of the workshop and list it on the club website then a few weeks later when the larger items had been sold we held a auction night to sell off the remaining bits and pieces the widow was more than pleased with the sum raised donated half to club funds as a thank you for the clubs help. |

Les / Jason I don't have a 'C' spanner and there doesn't seem anywhere to use one ! if you look where the barrel goers into the body you can just about see three very small Phillips screws what they do at this point I do not know, have checked the end of the jaws and they are fine no light can be seen between them., also as I said earlier if I grip the thimble and apply a little force I can zero the mic but when using the ratchet it stops as shown. Cheers for replies so far H |

I spent a most enjoyable day in the sun at the MSRVS rally at Tewkesbury. A nice gathering of about 40 traction engines and steam lorries in various scales all in steam with some static "work in progress" exhibits too. The club seems blessed with extremely friendly and enthusiastic members who are happy to chat and offer advice, all gratefully received as I am just starting my build of a 4" Little Samson engine. In fact, I was so impressed with the friendly atmosphere that I joined the club!! Martin. Photos for anyone interested http://www.blackcountrysteam.co.uk/msrvs_14.htm |
