Bought a dividing head of so called reputable urasian makers, quite new too still in wooden box, however when tried to use it, ifound that the the spindle bore MT3 was not concentric to the axis. Took it back to the used tools shop lost some money and bought a used Correa (Spanish make) perfect, and i don't suffer from buyers remorse any more. I'm not impressed by the good looks or price of eastern stuff anymore. Mike |

Place a pouch of sylica gel (freely obtainable) with your instruments into the sealed container. sylica gel can be dried out by placing in the oven @ 70 deg C for a few minutes, works well |

It pushes out toward the front, the ram has a groove machined at the bottom where a pin in the barrel locates to stop it from turning, i,m not sure if water treatment will be of any help after it was submerged in oil. |

Repaired my 70+ year old Desoutter Type G30 "wrist breaker" drill today. I was told by the late Arthur Prescott who served as a young instrument maker on KG5 during the war that these machines were in use in the aircraft workshops at that time by ladies who worked there. These drills are 5/16 in. capacity and run around 300 rpm. Many times it would bite into the job and twist itself out of the hand often cause injury to the hand or wrist hence the nickname. it runs like new again. I'm unable to upload the pics for try as i like no "insert" button appears. Any help on this? |
