Further to my previous post would it be possible to leave a length of studding screwed in to the existing thread then sort of cast the Lumiweld round the studding . Unscrewing later but how would I stop the lumiweld from sticking to the studding? |

Hi In the past I have welded model aircraft crankcases with Lumiweld Alloy solder Now I have one with part of the exhaust stub missing .It is threaded to take the muffler bolts. I know I can fill the void but how do I heep the new thread I need to cut aligned with the thread in the remaining half still in place on the cylinder .I have taps etc .Can I drill through from the existing thread without damage to it. If so I could tap through from the existing thread. Is this possible do you think? John |
