Mid repair

Following a plea on the forum and having ditched the idea of filling the hole with J-B Weld or getting it welded up, I've tapped the hole 6mm and screwed in a steel bolt, trimming the surplus in the mill. The result isn't very aesthetically pleasing, but , if it does the job, I'll try to tidy it up a tad. Next step is to set it all up (again!) and spot through with a spotting drill to locate the shaft in the body.
