104 forum posts 11 photos | I have recently bought a 1957 Roundnose in need of restoration, I have now bought another for parts to help with this restoration. The problem is that this second lathe is at the bottom of a fairly long garden in a shed with a narrow path leading to it. This Lathe is going to have to be dismanteled to get it out has anyone any tips for doing this in particular I would like to remove the main gearbox and also the saddle to reduce weight, any and all advice appreciated. 104 forum posts 11 photos | Thanks Ian, I think the only thing I am unsure of is how the saddle comes off, is it just a matter of removing the 4 bolts that hold the apron on to the saddle and then sliding the saddle off the tailpost end. ( are these 4 bolts going down from the top of the saddle into the apron the only things that are attaching the 2 ) . John |
