Spirit fired boiler

Hi

I have some 2 Inch dia 16 gauge copper tubing

5 Inchs long would it be ok to make a spirit fired boiler

from this or is the dia too big to get enough heat

Also I have some 2 1/2 dia brass if I turned it down and made a shoulder could this be used for the end caps ok.

sorry to ask so many questions

But would soft solder be ok or is silver solder the way to go
