Many thanks to Michael Williams for sorting my query. I have one bush on the boiler for water supply, I would appreciate some advice on what size injectors to use, and also some guidance as to how the plumbing works, as there are two injector pipes and one handpump pipe to be connected to this bush. Thanks.

I would make a block that screws in to the bush with three outlets. Using in-line clacks connect the hand pump and the two injectors to the block outlets. Recommend that you use two No.3 injectors.

Luigi

A & K Enterprises list the No 3, @3/4 pint per minute, 3/16 pipe. This looks like the ones. Thank you, Luigi, for the advice so promptly. Brilliant.

I would offer that unless taking water from a separate tender that water in the saddle tank gets too hot for an injector.

Could I suggest a smaller injector for continuous running together with a larger one for topping up? Otherwise they will need constant shutting off. The feed could be taken from a tank on the driving truck if warm water in the saddle tank is a problem.

Best wishes

When I suggested two No.3 injectors, I did consider of suggesting in having a smaller one for continuous running, but as 21C105 does not have an axle or cross-head pump I considered that two large injectors would be better.

On one of my locos I have this arrangement of large and small injectors, and on one running session both my cross head pump and large injector decided to fail at the same time and I found that small injector could not cope on its own very well.

Definitely agree about using a separate water supply for injectors.

Regards Luigi
