A friend of mine has been offered a Bridgeport EZ trak, 3 axis control, monochrome display.

Just how good are they? He's thinking of using it to make motorcycle yokes and rearsets etc, he's no experience of programming one but I guess it shouldn't be too hard?

Ez trak..is not what is called G code..it is a conversational way of programming unique ( I think ) to bridgeport...
Although it works well it might be hard to find someone experienced in that control for help.
Most of the gubbins is a pc with one custom interface board. .the pc is sometimes in benifit of pushing the boards etc. Back in
..loose connections inside..as to the display you can even plug in a bigger display.
