New location this year as the old school site has the builders in.
The new place is in the top left hand corner of the city,

A bit more info about the exhibition.

Anyone in the south east will be welcome to attend our annual exhibition. We have had to change our venue due to a building schedule at the previous school.

We are now at The Townsend Church of England school, High Oaks, St. Albans, Herts. AL3 6DR

There is plenty of parking and light snacks and tea, coffee available all day.

Adults £4 Children 50p

Exhibits are mainly model boats, steam locos, general model engineering a few railway layouts and a flying show outside.
There are also small steam engines running from an air compressor, with technical members in attendance

We have several visiting clubs, Luton, Welwyn, Hatfield, Tamyia trucks. If you used to have a Meccano set then we have some really big models on show from the West London Meccano Society and you can Meccano buy spares as well. Gears pulleys etc.
We have a SMEE stand as well giving demonstrations.

Outside there is a small pool for RC boats and have-a-go boats for children. A 5 inch gauge track gives free train rides with locos and traction engines on demonstration.

We have the RNLI and some local charities as well. If you are looking to entertain some young ones over the weekend come and see us!

We fill the school with models, well you know what I mean! We have been doing it for over 50 years now.

AND CAKES smiley

Just had a couple of enjoyable hours there, and the b****y great lump of spring steel is still in the back of the car. I forgot all about it while we were there.

Glad you enjoyed the show Martin but sorry we didn't meet up. There's always next year.

Back home in Yorkshire now, and tired!

The show was bigger and better than I was expecting. I was particularly impressed by some of the Meccano stuff, especially the Stevenson's Rocket and stationary engines by Colin Davies, but as I took up scroll sawing earleir this year, I was rather taken by the Meccano scroll saw. I also noticed a well travelled Meccano exhibitor from Pickering who I have seen at the Harrogate ME exhibition a couple of times, and the steam rally in his home town.

We'd gone to St Albans for the wife to see her new great-niece, so the show was a great break for me. Another visit next year is always a possibility.

Martin.
