Emco FB2 oil leak

I have the above mill and it leaks oil from the spindle for the handles to move the quill up and down.

I can take the hadle off but unsure what to do next, any idea as I would like to cure the annoying leak

Although there a small amount of oil around the quill that's not where the majority seems to be leaking from also it's leaking when not being used, I am aware of the pressurisation problems.

the main area if from the handle spigot. Hence why I was wondering if this spigot can be unassembled with touching the quill?

So how do I get that out please?

Ok, I had a quick look. The M4 hold a retaining collar that's also the pointer for the drill depth. Once removed the pinion can be pulled out a few MM. I recon I can get some orange sealer on the shaft which may cure the problem.

My FB2 has leaked oil from the quill for the last 25 years. However, the total amount of oil I've had to put in to top up the level has been about 100 ml over that period, so I decided to live with it. I just need to remember to wipe the base of the head if it hasn't been used for a while, otherwise I get spattered with oil when I turn it on. I have not noticed oil leaking from around the quill lever. Perhaps you should see how much oil is leaking and take your own view on whether it's worth the effort (and risk) of disassembly.
