4 forum posts | Thank you David as you can see I can now post. I have a Warco KF VO A1S turret mill which I think is an identical design to a Myford VM-E. I have a squealing sound coming from the spindle pulley set. The nut holding the pulley set is circular with four indents cut in the edge at 90 degree intervals. I have tried tightening/ loosening this nut with no success. Part of the difficulty is created by the fact that the machine has no spindle lock. Has anyone dealt with this problem before as I could do with some help with this. I have spoken to both Warco and (new) Myford but they claim that the machine is so old they no longer have any staff that can give advice. |

![]() 25215 forum posts 3105 photos 1 articles | Squealing is usually more a sign of a slipping belt than a loose pully. Could be a dry bearing, what does the spindle turn like by hand with no belts in place. If you have no spindle lock put a bit of 1/2" bar in a collet and hold that in the machine vice, failing that hold the collet/Autolock spanner in the vice while its engaged in the tool holder Edited By JasonB on 01/09/2013 16:27:50 |

4 forum posts | With the belt removed and turning the pulley by hand I still get the squeal so as you suggest it may be a dry bearing, although I do lubricate at regular intervals. However I will try yor sugestion re locking the spindle. Many thanks Mike |
