portass 's' lathe thread

Hi, I wondered if anyone knows the size and type of thread on the spindle end to take the lathe chuck backplate.The one on at the moment has been homemade and does not run very true.Any help greatly appreciated Thanks.

Can you not measure it? Usually a thread has a diameter and number of threads per inch [TPI]

But possibly you would need to remove the existing pulley[?} backplate{?} to do this.

They used "S type" to describe several versions so you will likely have to do as said and measure the thread, see here

Hi thanks for the replies,have measured and found the diameter to be 3/4",and 16tpi.
