Got back to Canada a few days ago; did manage to see the Q1 in York, and did get to the Harrogate show for a few hours on the Saturday. (Saw 4 of the A4s during my trip, and a 5th, have been through it here when it was in Canada - none nearly as interesting as the Q1, IMHO) wink

Did not see any Q1s on the stands at Harrogate. Looked at the Polly stand, but did not talk to anyone - they were busy enough with paying customers.

Did I miss one? The exhibition was very busy when I went, so possibly I did miss something on one of the club stands.

Working through the CNCing aspects of my model engineering - have re-drawn the wheels in 2D CAD; also some parts that will be water jet cut.

When current workshop projects come to completion, the Q1 may pop up onto the top of the list - have boiler materiel to make 2 boilers, so possibly 2 Q1s will be made in my workshop? (It'll be documented on http://cnc-for-model-engineers.blogspot.com, along with other aspects of my CNC education)

All the Q1 models I'm currently aware of (I took the first names from another website, it didn't often list full names):

C6 - Nick Feast (and he has a couple more I don't know the numbers of)

C17 - Made by a gentleman named Harry

C20 - Peter

C41 (Fictional number) - Len

As a point of interest the Hornby model is of C1 and C9, and C10 was on Thomas the Tank Engine under the name Neville...

EDIT - Zombie thread resurrection! Sorry, I thought the date said 2018, not 13...

OK, here is an update on a very old thread! 2 Q1 tender engines completed and a tank engine that never existing now running as well. It's an 0-6-4, successor to the SECR j class and feasible alternative to the Leader. See photo. More info to follow, perhaps something in the magazine if the editor agrees.dscf5495.jpg

Gentlemen,

I photographed this Q1 at The Bedford Model Engineering Society track earlier this year, sadly no owner details.
