Hello Chaps ---------- I've started this thread under this heading hoping that it's ok to do so ??--------- Can anyone help me trace a Model Engineer whose locomotive I still have -------- Alas I can't remember his name as I only met him on two, short occasions..I do know that he was an Ex-RAF pilot (Hawker Hunters, I believe ), --- used to live in a house out in the countryside to the North East of HEREFORD ( Had a large collection of locos, military items, misc. "interesting" mechanical things stored in the surrounding trees and barn... I believe he moved to France... I have his embryo 5" BOXHILL loco frame, wheels, parts etc. and need to contact him ASAP... I know this is a very L----O------N-------G shot, but you never know ?? Does this ring a bell with anyone, maybe the Hereford MES people Anyone in France reading this have any ideas ?? ------------- Thanks for any leads you might have----------- Alan R

Hello BOB----Yes, I have the same posting on the Model Engineers Clearing House Forum (Don't be shy about names now, eh !!)...plus elsewhere-----I'm sure you will agree with me that it's a good idea to cover all possible leads ???..But tell me, what on Earth is "strange" about trying to find the owner of a model locomotive that's in one's keeping ??----- Please, do have a re-read of the post and the name BOXHIL (in capitals!!) may give you just a BIT of a clue as to the loco type ?????---------as to wanting to contact the chap urgently ?? That's a PRIVATE matter and not for the public domain.....

Bob, I've just re-read that last post of mine on here and hope it didn't come across as being a bit "Sharp" ??--Sorry if it did...wasn't intentional...

Alan,

Just had a look in my "Pages Blanc" - French telephone directory - and there is only one John Quentin (+ a few J Quentins) in the Vienne, which is sort of central France around the Poitiers area. PM me if you would like this telephone number. For obvious resons I wouldn't like to post it directly on here!

John

PLUS---- some "Back-engineering" with an out-of-date Telephone No. in the French Directory, I can now report that I have just spoken to the correct John Quentin in ADRIERS, West Central France...... Once again my thanks to all who responded-----------
