I bought mine from e-bay, £6-8 per volume, the digital archive does not go back that far.

Are you thinking of building one, I have most of the castings stashed under the bench. Do be aware that its a Superba from a distance, up close Haining took quite a few liberties and some research will yield a far better scale representation. For example he shows 4No rivits per strake when there should actually be 14No, the front axle as drawn won't have any articulation, etc

Looks like 161 & 162 are only on the bay as individual issues at the moment which works out quite a lot but 163 is there so snap it up

Many thanks for your reply I understand where you are coming from. Yes I agree JH did take many liberties. I am at present trying to complete scale drawings to enable me to make a pair. So far i am only short of Cylinder and valve details and cable winding mechanism all research seems to miss these items in detail.

Have you contacted the Steam Plough Club to see what they may have in their archive? Merl don't list much for the Superba but they do have some details of the Z7 and Z7s

Failing that its take a tape measure to one of the Z7 engines that are in preservation, I do have some photos off the net of the Z7S below, PM me your e-mail if you don't have them.

PM sent

Have you tried your club? if you only need to look at them perhaps if they don't have a club set someone might be prepared to allow you to borrow theirs.
