Hi, can anyone point me in the right direction for UK suppliers of castings & materials for a 3 or 4" scale Allchin traction engine?

Regards, Martin

Thanks Jason, this looks an interesting site. I'm renewing my search for a 3-4" scale Traction Engine to build having been seriously let down by the supplier of castings etc. for my original choice of engine.

Regards, Martin.

3" Fowler from MJ Engineering is a good size, Ouite a few about and a good network of builders if you have any queries. The odd casting can be on a bit of a long lead but most are OK

Or if you want a road loco the 3" Mac now done by HPM is a good size and the 4" even bigger. The Little Samson in 4" is a quicker build but I don't like the look myself.

And final choice is a 6" Gold Medal Tractor which comes out about teh same size as a large 4", infact it uses the sam eboiler as the 4" Mac

Hi Paul Wainright in Sheffield has casting for a 4 1-2" Allchin 01142378079. It's a few years sinse I bought mine but I think he is still about. The 4 1-2" is pretty big if you are looking for a ride on.

Regards

Mick
