371 forum posts | It was, of course, my fault entirely not to keep a spare blade for my small Warco metal cutting band saw but how gratified, impressed and relieved I was to be rescued by such a prompt service from here Furthermore, the blades supplied were manufactured by Starrett, a company which has some reputation in our field. No connection other than as a very satisfied customer. |

These were made to cut the 36 inch triple layer riser pipes when a well was abandoned. From this I learn a lot about bandsaw design and the most important thing I learnt was that Lennox had the best blade technology. Starrett unfortunately could come nowhere near on this. My current saw has a capacity of 18" x 12" and works very hard, A Lennox blade will last between 4 and 6 months, a Starrett blade will last 2 weeks. John S. |

![]() 5068 forum posts 3 photos | Just looked up the current price at J&L 12' 6" x 1" 6/10 varitooth Lennox is £37.52 12' 6" x 1" 6/10 varitooth Starrett is £45 53 The Lennox blades for the common 6 x 4 Chinese saws are £7.52 each regardless of tpi but you have to watch prices in the advantage catalogue as these can be cheaper if on offer. Couldn't find a Starrett to fit the 6 x 4 bandsaws on J&L at the moment. John S. |
