I thought website members may be interested in the readout I fitted to my Dore Westbury mill.
This done a long time ago and the mill ended up on the Isle of White.
The principles may help others to fit the cheaper readout scales.
The Y readout scale (front to back in the photo) was bolted to a block on the back of the table. The read head was bolted to a piece of gauge plate fitted between the column and the base. The scale moves backwards and forwards while the head remains still. The X readout head is bolted to the lower fixed part of the table and the scale is bolted to either end of the moving table.
This worked well but I should have added perspex covers to it.
regards david
