Rivet size and Pitch

I am building a 3 1/2" Firefly and would appreciate some advice on rivets.
I would like to use some for their intended purpose of holding parts such as the buffer beams to frame etc. This is straight forward.
Where I am having difficulty is on the side tanks. What size should I use, also what pitch and how many. I am not looking for precise scale detail but would like to look the part without overdoing it. There is no mention of rivet detail on the drawing.
