Hello
Iam in the process of making a lathe bed for my IME headstock , tailstock and carriage. I have most of the details I need but one. How does the bed fasten on the cradle?
A quick look at Tony Griffiths excellent lathe site under IME  shows all the details but thisone . As the lathe was stored in bits and missing the bed/stand I have no other point of reference.

If anyone can help I would be very grateful.

many thanks
Nb if you have any pictures/diagrams of this assembly I know Tony would be pleased to hear from you.

Hello Clive,

I can't give you a definative answer since I don't own an IME watchmakers lathe. However I do have the 100 model instrument lathe which has a very similar bed if you look at the pics. on Tony Griffiths site. The bed on my lathe is simply drilled through and counterbored in one place at each end of the bed and secured with (1/4?) caphead screws.
                                                                                                                     Regards Max.
