Thread: collet identity |

Could you help me identify a box of imperial collets please.
They comprise of a body and a seperate locking nut. The body has a profile of a flat countersunk head rivet. Just over an inch in total length and approx 13/16 o/dia. They all have three equally spaced slits running about three quarters of the length of the body.
They look similar to pictures of the Bristol Ericson Acramil "G" or "F" type but the locking rings do not have outside wings for tightening instead the underside of the ring as a 3/16 deep groove to accept a 5/8 wide bar.
Many thanks

Thread: Old watchmakers lathe |
07/04/2010 19:07:22 |
Hello
Iam in the process of making a lathe bed for my IME headstock , tailstock and carriage. I have most of the details I need but one. How does the bed fasten on the cradle?
A quick look at Tony Griffiths excellent lathe site under IME shows all the details but thisone . As the lathe was stored in bits and missing the bed/stand I have no other point of reference.
If anyone can help I would be very grateful.
many thanks
Nb if you have any pictures/diagrams of this assembly I know Tony would be pleased to hear from you. |
Thread: Website Articles - Suggestions Please |
12/06/2009 15:51:54 |
Hi
Can I raise the old chestnut of articles in the current magazine refering back to articles published some time ago.
Why not put the old article on the website at the time of publishing or insist the author repeats his previous submission!
Can we see Workshop articles please and maybe a list of the contenents pages since copy1 - that way we could better identify whta might be of use.
Thanks Clive
