I am starting this discussion for those who wish to share ideas with those who have built or operated the 3" Allchin. I am part of a group of 5 chaps in South Australia who cooperating as we each build a 3" Allchin. We are using a steel boiler with an OD of 220mm which makes it slightly larger than a double scale Hughes model. Otherwise it is twice the size of the Hughes 1 1/2 inch model.

We have built most of the major components and are now working on the "fiddly" bits. I would like to make contact with other 3" Allchin enthusiasts, and in particular at this point of time, anyone who has a good design for the safety valve
to give a crisp "pop off"
