The Eclipse handbook merely specifies SAE 140 gear oil.
I obtained a 5"x10" chuck, and found it to contain no oil at all, no wonder it was stiff! |

I am sure there are loads of other retailers selling the stuff.

1504 forum posts 142 photos | Thanks for that, at least I know that I am not looking for some out of date product, and it should be readily available. All I have found locally so far is 80-90 SAE, and that was EP, which additives don't behave well with Phosphor bronze and brass, and I am sure there's some of that in the chuck, if only in the operating lever bush, and that already oozes a bit.

1504 forum posts 142 photos | Following the advice, I have got some Morris Lubricants AG140, and good it looks. The only problem is I had to get it by mail and had to get a big can, so if anyone else needs a small quantity, as I did, then get in touch. |
