A newbie from Northamptonshire

1 forum posts | Just wanted to introduce myself. I am an experienced carpenter/joiner although I have worked in IT for many years starting after being involved in early CNC machines for staircase manufacture in the late 80's. My love is still making things and I have a very well set up workshop (Still WIP) at the bottom of my garden near Daventry (country village) with mainly woodworking machines. I have a 9m x 5m dedicated workshop in which I have a Boxford Mk3 AUD and a Centec 2B mill with the vertical head, for which both have been converted to VFD. I have developed quite a passion for precision. I joined this forum not because I am a model maker but because model makers seem to be the only guys with the same interests in machining. My goal is to make advanced woodworking tooling for myself and possibly for others. I stress that I am learning so please be patient and kind. I am sure I will make many mistakes. |

383 forum posts 71 photos | Hi Graham. Welcome to the forum. I am a retired carpenter, but by the sound of it, not in the same league as you! I recollect that I might have had a hand in building a very large warehouse in/near Daventry, but it was forty or more years ago, so I might be wrong. It would be interesting to hear about the tooling you are making. |
