3453 forum posts 23 photos | I happened to see these online. They don’t strike me as being particularly well priced? I have the original single halogen light on my mill and that works fine. I also mounted a £7.99 IKEA LED on a cheap mag base a couple of years back and thats good as well. Some years ago I bought a multi LED lamp and the bluish illumination from it was rubbish. |

357 forum posts 13 photos | My older LED 'spotlights' have a blue tint and low output. I'don't know whether that is slow deterioration, but the more recent LED lights are much better. I have several of the IKEA lights, I find that the light tends to flicker, which I attribute to the low voltage and/or current being unable to clean the switch contacts. I read someone's blog a while ago, replacing the switches with silver contact switches, less prone to this problem. Bill |

181 forum posts 7 photos | Bill, I have a few of the IKEA lights dotted about the house and workshop. The rocker switch on them has 3x positions - middle = Off, down = Bright, up = Dim. Some do flicker and I find if I gingerly coax the switch slightly away from the Bright or Dim positions then the flickering stops. I guess the culprit is a bad connection. Ches |
