Bearing replacement

11 forum posts 6 photos | I have been given this live centre, some thing I needed, but it has a problem with at least one bearing. It has one large, loose, grub screw in the front centre with a plate/shaft end close to inside (5mm) and a small grub screw holding the plastic backplate. If some one could tell me which bit to push or pull I would be very grateful. Many thanks Lee |

If that doesn't work, then the shaft needs to be pulled out of the head. It would have been easy to assemble, but not easy to dismantle. Another way would be to use a solid carbide drill to put a hole in the head end and into the cavity in front of the shaft. Then you can use a punch to remove the spindle from the head. Then you have to hope that the bearings have numbers on them for replacement. |
