51 forum posts | Does anyone have copies of any of the Adept lathe ‘development’ articles that appeared in ME between the 1920s & 1950s? I have the article that appears in Lathes.co.uk by L.V.P. Clarke in the 17th July 1947 copy, but I am aware there are many others. Can anyone help, please? Thanks. Mike |

51 forum posts | Further on the Adept lathe thread: Does anyone have the M E Article dated 26th October 1944 by Geo. E. Sheard called “Toolboxes for small lathes”? Also, can anyone tell me the specification of the Super Adept lead screw? Mine is an ordinary one and I’m working in upgrading it to make it more useful. Oddly, none of the info on lathes.co.uk mentions the lead screw diameters on either the carriage or the cross or top slides.

51 forum posts | Whilst on the subject of past ME articles, I have used the Archive.org records to view ME vol101, and am interested in going back into vol100 to see the earlier gear cutting articles by Duplex. However, I can’t seem to get back further than vol 101, though I do already have a copy (screen photographed) of part 39 from June 16 1949, which doesn’t appear to be available …bu somehow I got to see it!
Can anyone enlighten me as to how to navigate this excellent, but rather stodgy and user unfriendly website? Thanks Mike |
