Wiring an Elliot Bench Grinder.

3 forum posts 2 photos	Hi, as a newbie to Model Engineering and the forums, I would be grateful for any advice on connecting up an Elliot Grinder. I bought the grinder secondhand online. The motor has a plate showing that it is a single phase 240V motor. The cable contains 4 wires, 1 more than I was expecting. Is the extra wire possibly for a foot switch, or has someone wired it up using phase cable. (Sorry images seem to have rotated when uploaded).

2536 forum posts 24 photos	That solid wire should not go to a pug obviously. The extra wires are for the zero volt release. Earth wire will terminate in the start stop button box.
