4 forum posts | Hi all, I'm an artist blacksmith near Peebles in the Scottish Borders. We have various odd old bits of kit in the workshop so it will be interesting to see how much of it is used by others on here. Newest toy is an Elliot 2g pillar drill bought last week which is a lovely bit of kit. Favourite toy is either the power hammer or the ward forsyth 30 tonne press. |

7227 forum posts 21 photos | Welcome! Lots of experience on here. If you intend to progress to machining, probably your first purchase will be alathe, possibly followed by a milling machine. (A drilling machine, and its chucks are not suitable for milling, not designed or constructed for the sideways loads rather than the axial imposed during drilling )

Howard Thanks Howard A lathe is certainly on the list. Just going through planning for a new workshop and that will give us some much needed space for more toys. . |
