I have a friend who needs to sell a 3.5" Doris (I think) chassis quickly due to an impending house move. There is no time for ebay and all that shenanigins.

The engine is currently in the north of Scotland, but he will making a journey to Shropshire later this week. Does anybody know of a suiable dealer near Shropshire or between Shropshire and Scotland.

If anybody is interested, it is up to chassis wheels and coupling rods stage with a pair of nicely completed cylinder blocks, covers, valves & rods not yet fitted. No pony truck or tender.

Thanks in advance,

Martin

What ever you do don’t go anywhere near antique steam. The chap is a well known con man. Better options are eBay 1 day sale, or Facebook marketplace, or just put on Facebook model engineering site. If the price is fair someone will buy it.

I would urge caution or you could be faced with huge legal costs attempting to prove what you say is true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The thing is I can prove it. I would be more then happy if the chap would take me to court. I would have a field day with him.

Proof to the satisfaction of the Courts can be elusive.

Particular thanks to Harry W and Michael R. I have passed that information on. I was not aware of Birmingham and Knowsley dealers, which may well be feasible to call in on.

It's not about the value of the chassis, it is nicely built and I hate to see stuff like that go in the bin. Maybe it will do someone a good turn, plus a few notes for my friend.

Thanks again,

Martin
