![]() 1078 forum posts | Could I please request some assistance in finding a source for this material please? There are a few scraps for sale on an auction site at the moment but I am making at least three boilers in the next couple of years and find this makes a good grate material so would like to buy a decent sized piece. Last time I bought it I think from Reeves but they didn't cut it to size very well and it was never quite right. In the event the picture doesn't work for some reason the material is a stainless grate consisting of V shaped bars allowing the ash to fall between them unimpeded. I've seen similar grating at work in our computer halls on the floor but as it is aluminium it wouldn't be any use. It appears to be welded together. Thank you,
Jon. |

1050 forum posts 56 photos | I bought a piece, cut to size from Blackgates 3 or 4 years ago. It was in their on-line catalogue but, IIRC, I had to 'phone them to give the dimensions, no web ordering. (I think it's actually a chemical engineering material). Edited By Clive Brown 1 on 31/08/2022 16:57:41 |

2308 forum posts 33 photos | The first thing is to find the material, 316 stainless, commercially it will be spot welded from what I've seen of such grates. An industrial metal stockist is your best bet, try the internet. Then you need a spot welder. Good luck Noel.. |
