Does anyone know of a fabricator or sheet metal place that has 1.5mm or 2mm Zintec sheet in the Stoke-on-Trent area? I used to have a plentiful source of free offcuts (some quite sizeable), but that's now finished.

That's outside my area, thanks. I'm looking for somewhere that's closer to home (ST13 postcode) so I can collect, and ideally someone who sells offcuts. The main stockist is nearby, but they only sell full sheets of 2500mmx1250mm in 1.5mm. I rang around and all I can find is 1mm cut to size from places that make ventilation and ducting.

Looks like cars that last 15 years have killed of the old panel suppliers.

1.5mm is thicker than generally used in car panels and is more likely to be used in general sheet metalwork.

Look for ventilation firms fitting out industrial buildings. There are probably a lot getting lots of orders for cooling upgrades and tend to use zinc sheet ductwork. Also look for industrial units being demolished which will be ripping out such ductwork.
Some washing machines have removable rear panels that are galvanised sheet.

Mick,

metals4u.co.uk list 1.5mm zintec sheets 500 x 500mm, but at a price! I assume there is p&p on top. I didn't pursue my investigations after I picked myself up off the floor! Other, larger sizes are available.
