I have always found it difficult to light my Sievert 871901 Light Line Propane Burner, the problem being that without covering the air holes at rear of the burner the rush of the incoming gas extinguishes the igniting flame. The answer has been to roll up a sliding brass sleeve to cover up the air holes for igniting purposes and then to slide it back to expose the holes once the gas stream is alight. No claims to originality but it might just be new to someone and it has certainly has answered my problem. The attached pics shows the sleeve in operation.

Simply use a spark ignitor that is designed to light oxy -acetylene. Works for me on propane torches.

Andrew.
