I wonder if there is anyone close to Southampton, who might be able to help with milling SOHC Honda cylinder heads, to accept camshafts fitted with a bearing, rather than running directly in the head? Have a few I need doing, and could be more in future. TIA to anyone who responds to this.

Single cylinder Honda motorcycle engines, Chris. Wear is very common on these heads, but as most check them without releasing tension on the cam chain, the play/wear doesn't get detected that often.

I am between Petersfield and Portsmouth. I have a Victoria U2 milling machine.

Why not make some tooling (which might need a milling machine) and line bore using a lathe with the line boring tool running between centres and the tooling replacing the compound slide? That should keep the set up time down.

Happy to chat on 'phone.

John
