Hi everyone, I have recently noticed that Pocketmags seems to publish the new digital issues before ME. I haven't in the past paid much attention to the digital timings as they seem to vary by quite a lot, sometimes before print and yet at other times later.

It was only when last month a fellow model engineer commented on FB about the IMLEC article in the latest mag wbich was a few days before it was printed. It wasn't on ME digital so I asked where he got the article from with the reply being Pocketmags?

Today I have found that the latest issue 4676 is already available on Pocketmags? The last issue 4675 has only recently been published here on ME Digital?

So my question is how can Pocketmags publish the new issue a full 7 days before it's due in print form? Which digital service do you guys subscribe too? I have both print and digital subscriptions with ME which I don't want to change, call it a loyalty thing but do wonder why the official outfit is so far behind the competition?

Regards

Pete

I was also a little surprised to see ME 4676 & MEW 309 on Pocketmags before here.

I am a digital only subscriber for both on MyTimeMedia to get access to the back issues with the account linked to Pocketmags as well.

I am a print and digital subscriber, but to MEW only and find that the digital version is consistently 6-7 days in advance of the print publishing date. To be fair, when I took out my subscription, one of the selling points was the fact that it gave you access to the magazine earlier than if bought at a newsagent. Pocketmags, in my experience often beat the access via this forum, but not by much.

Hi Pete.

If you have a MyTimeMedia account on here it can be connected to Pocketmags (second subscription not needed).

You can look at purchased digital issues but I do not think the back issue facility is available on Pocketmags (not 100% sure on that).

It is about 8 years since I linked my subs into the Pocketmags APP so now desperately trying to remember how it works!

I think it involved the ME subs number and my email address.

I am taking the Wife for an appointment now so will try and work it all out later unless some kind person comes along with the method before them!

regards. V8.

Thanks, V8, I do have both print and digital subscriptions with MyTime so if I can link with Pocketmags that would be great.

Kind regards

Pete

I just tried to find how to link myself via the Pocketmags site, I think I've found a page under 'my account' (evidently I opened an account some years back for some Porsche mags) then in 'my library' and then 'activate subscription' i then get stuck when it askes for an 'order number', I tried entering my subscription number but that didn't work?

Thanks V8

I did speak to Pocketmags yesterday evening but it was late in the day and not had a reply from my last email. I think that they can grant me access once I can prove that I have the proper ME subscriptions....I sent them a copy of my original email for the subscription but forgot that originally I only had one for print only. I upgraded a few months later to both print and digital but can't find the email, I seem to recollect having to sort the upgrade through the helpline and thus may not have got a confirmation email?

My last mail tried to explain this but got there too late for a reply last night, hope to hear something positive from Pocketmags Monday.

Fingers crossed...

Cheers

Pete
