Nameplate for a model boat.

231 forum posts 50 photos | Advice needed! Could anyone tell me where I could have a couple of nameplates for my model boat made, obviously water resistant material say brass or perspex, I have no means of making something with small text etched or carved or printed. The nameplate is only ~ 40 x 10 mm long and need only be ~1mm thick, I don't mind paying for this, after all I have spent many hours in making the model and if I make it... it wouldn't do the model justice. An enamelled badge type would be absolutely fantastic .. however I don't know if there is anyone doing this for 'one offs'.. I feel certain there must be someone with expertise in this subject on this forum and I would be gratefull for any advice.....Thanks...Bob. |

2661 forum posts 294 photos | A quick net search turned up a couple of enamel badge co's that also do name badges. While they are larger than your request it might be worth the punt to order a couple with centralised small text and cut them to size?? pgk |

526 forum posts 45 photos | I've used Peter Wood a couple of times and can thoroughly recommend his work. He's very easy to deal with and costs are reasonable and not too long to wait. http://menp.co.uk/ The pic is of his pre-order drawings of the required plates. The originals are 2nd row, left side, 3rd row right side. Finished plates are about 1-1/8" x 7/8". Dave |
