Refurbishment

344 forum posts 12 photos | Gentlemen. I am refurbing a Mk. 2 Progress Model 1 bench drill. It has the MT No. 1 taper and No. 6J nose for the chuck. In the spindle there is a drift slot and a knurled threaded ring under that. Is this ring for locking down on something, or for bearing down on the chuck for removal. The arbor tang does not extend into the drift slot? How then to remove the arbor and chuck please? Do not have double wedge set. If that is the method. But could make. |
