Hi All,

Bit of a long shot, does anyone have a manual for any StepmasterNC control board ?

I'm stuck as to how to power the thing.

I bought it maybe 10 years ago and the company is defunct, the website is closed and the links to the PDFs on medw.com are all dead.

There's VBB IN which has two terminals, neither of which are marked +ve & -ve so... they might both be one or the other & the opposite polarity is fed in, in at an entirely different point.

Anyway, all help gratefully received.

Cheers,

Wilson.

I don’t have this board, but out of interest, I just looked on the internet and found these 2 pages which might help:

the second one is for Aliencnc board, but there are suggestions it is the same board with a different name.

Thanks Stuart but its not the same board layout.

I'm not actually sure these companies are related.

The board design is quite different.

Possibly same company but mine is an earlier board ?

I have tentatively connected VBB IN but I am not happy about actually applying power till I am sure of the polarity.

Is it possible to trace the tracks from the connectors? Or test to known components .

Is either of the VBB terminals connected directly to the GND of the bottom right connector strip or the bare pads in the corners? It would be a reasonable guide to polarity if it is a DC supply.

There is a 3 axis board schematic here, might help.
