Apparently the earlier ones came with single phase while the later ones came with a variable speed motor, I don't know what sort, but quite likely some sort of DC motor or a universal type of AC motor. To use a VFD you would need a three phase motor, so it very probably would require you to buy both the motor and the VFD. So unless the existing motor is a three phase one, it would be quite an expensive exercise, although still probably worthwhile. John |

4655 forum posts 304 photos | As mentioned, the motor would require changing for a 3 phase one, and you would have to do some careful measuring to find out whether there is room to fit one. |
