What oil should be used & where is the oil level plug/screw for the Myford Super 7 Quick Change Gearbox please?

Hi John,

There is a write up of lubricating Myford lathes here. You can find the gearbox manual here. It has been discussed on the forum earlier.

The drain and fill/level plugs are readily visible on mine: drain is brass hexhead underneath and the fill is the slot-head on the RH side.

The plug on the left front is for installation and should not need to be disturbed.

Duplicate post caused by pressing back button after posting and assuming post had not registered- not sure how normal this feature is?

As I keep telling others in my family, avoid pressing the Back button on any browser, more often than not it causes issues you could do without.

Yes, this irritation also has the effect on other sites of logging you out when you have just logged in so I suppose is not to be laid at the door of MTM.
