![]() 2376 forum posts 800 photos | I've had several queries recently about my current Excel version of CamCalc which produces coordinates for the milling of cams for i.c. engines. The link is: There is no need to download the Dropbox app. Choose the "Or continue to website" option and wait for the download symbol to appear in the top right hand corner. There are sometimes queries concerning the look of the cam part way through machining. The machining coordinates are not the outline of the cam but give the path of a flat ended endmill passed across the blank at every (in this case) 3 degrees). You have to go all the way around to end up with the correct profile. The sketch below perhaps shows why this is so.
