8 forum posts 21 photos | Hi all,
I have recently purchased a pre-owned Myford MG9 cylindrical grinder. I will post photographs and information on the restoration of this machine for reference for anyone that may need information for a similar project. I haven't yet managed to locate any workshop manuals for this machine, but the disassembly and cleaning was fairly straight forward. Steven |

In a moment of madness over twenty years ago I bought a J&S 1310 at a local auction. It's a beast to have in a home workshop, much underused and probably not really justifiable and its power frightens me but finishing to within a couple of 10ths is as easy as falling off a log. |

Luckily these machines were very evenly but looking at the smear marks on your ways just a go-over with a scraper will improve your oil retention and limit stick-slip in the table. It;s a shame about the busted infeed handwheel but at least it's not the table traverse one. If you have the bits it should be a fairly easy repair. Do you have any other bits apart from what's in the photos? Mine came with internal grinding head and a small steady rest. |
