Help and information needed

2 forum posts | Hello fellow weirdos. I have a Warco VMC I'm hoping to convert but struggling for information, in most of my searches the information peters out or is not there at all. Some youtube videos show the machine working but no info.. I dont expect a detailed cutting list but info on some of the thing that worked (and didn't) would be nice. I'm capable of all the mechanical and machining work so don't want to buy a complete finished ballscrew kit (and I'm tight). So the question is does anyone have a link to a decent build log? or know what size ballscrews and servos to use? Thanks, Steve. |

258 forum posts 125 photos | Good start. I wonder why you didn't receive any replies. Well you're in luck - there are no kits for these machines AFAICT. I have the Warco Super Major and I've been considering converting it for a while. The issue I have is; I'm sure the project will entail machining parts to make it work, but without a 2nd milling machine, this would entail continually disassembling it, taking some measurements and reassembling it again to make the part, which sounds like a faff. Maybe the process would be easier now that I have a 3D printer, as I can mock up all the required pieces while the mill is disassembled, and only assemble once to make the final parts.
