I have been trying to get into TurboCAD (Deluxe, ver: 16.2), but today I am stuck. I have just started playing with 3D and changing the workplane before adding shapes to other shapes. However, when I now try to draw an ordinary polyline it appears as a parallelogram. I have tried the polylines in another file and it works perfectly so I assume I have done something stupid. Can any of you fellows offer any suggestions?

Its because you changed the workplane and the plane and view don't match. The easiest way to reset things is to right-click anywhere in the drawing area, then choose the view you want, then click 'Plane by active view'.

This is what I do in Tcad ProProf, Tcad Deluxe should be the same.  I don't use Tcad as much now that I've switched to Fusion.

Many thanks Gary, my sanity is restored. I spent some time drawing 2D house plans a couple of years ago and became reasonably capable with the program but am trying to make a comeback with the help of the Paul Tracey videos. Very impressed with your instructional techniques, screenshots with pasted directions, very effective! You have certainly got me out of a hole. Many thanks again.
